Rosenbauer/Spartan 1500/1000 Custom Side Mount Pumpers

North Chatham Volunteer FD, Chatham County, North Carolina

PITTSBORO– North Chatham VFD in Chatham County, NC has taken delivery of two Custom Side Mount Pumpers built by the world’s leading builder of fire trucks, Rosenbauer.

CW Williams is very proud to have a long history of supplying trucks, equipment and truck service to North Chatham.  But, as a result of our change to Rosenbauer back in 2006 we once again had to prove ourselves.  The truck committe at North Chatham evaluated numerous builders but after a visit with a Rosenbauer customer that had just taken delivery of their second Pumper from Rosenbauer, North Chatham was satisfied with what Rosenbauer could do.  Chief Stroud was pleased with the responses to design questions and with what they saw on their factory visit.  He credits Sales Engineer David Eatmon of CWW with making the process flow smoothly.  The unique paint break on the cabs came about after seeing a similarly painted truck in a Rosenbauer calendar shot.

Each of the pumpers are built on Spartan’s Gladiator cab and chassis.  The cab has a 10″ raised roof and is outfitted with a FireCom intercom system.  The power train consists of a 500hp Cummins ISM engine and an Allison EVS4000 transmission.  The trucks carry Waterous CSU1500 gpm pumps and 1000 gallon booster tanks.  The pump is also equipped with Foam Pro 1600 system.

These trucks have Rosenbauer’s unmatched “Centurion” bodies.  The bodies are built from 3/16″ aluminum and each of the full height compartments are 28″ deep.   Suction hose is stored in enclosed body compartments and ladders are carried on an overhead rack.

The trucks have Whelen LED light packages, custom shelving and carry 10kW Harrison hydraulic generators.
