Rosenbauer Freightliner/Rosenbauer 1250/1000 Side Mount Pumper

ASHEBORO – Randolph Community College recently took delivery of this Rosenbauer Pumper.  The chassis is a Freightliner M2 with a 300 hp Cummins ISC engine.  It is complimented with an Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission.  The community college needed a four (4) door truck with crew seating, so this truck has three crew seats along the back wall;  all crew seats are SCBA seats.

The new pumper is capable of carrying 1000 gallons of water in the UPF tank (backed by a lifetime warranty).  It is has a Waterous CX pump that is rated at 1250 gpm.  Incorporated into the pump house are two crosslays that hold 200′ of hose each.  In addition to being able to pump a lot of water, the apparatus is equipped with a quick dump and extendable chute which is housed in the rear compartment behind the roll up door!  Once the roll-up door is lifted electric controls can extend and retrac the chute, and open the dump valve; this can be done at the rear of the body, or from the cab!

The apparatus body is a Rosenbauer aluminum body.  One of the great options on the body is the dual arm electric ladder rack, and it’s easy to operate controls; this is located on the passenger side.  Another great option is the dual arm electric folding tank rack on the driver side of the body.  The rack is covered by an aluminum cover that is painted the same color as the body.  The Director also had us install a generator in the R1 compartment and put it on a slide out tray for easy operation and maintence.  We customized the lettering and striping in Rocky Mount to meet the needs of the college.
